Staggered Byzantine Chain - Micromail

A delicate and intricately woven variation of the classic Byzantine weave, the 10mm Staggered Byzantine Micromail chain combines smaller rings with a staggered construction to create a distinctive repeating pattern.

Each piece is made by hand, one ring at a time, giving every chain that slightly unique handmade feel. The smaller micromail rings create a fine, detailed texture, while the staggered Byzantine units give the chain its distinctive undulating shape.

The repeating sections create an unusual scalloped silhouette, giving the chain plenty of visual interest without making it feel overly heavy or bulky. It's an intricate piece that looks especially beautiful up close, where you can see all of the individual rings working together.

With its unusual variation on a classic chainmail weave, Staggered Byzantine Micromail has a strong gothic, medieval and fantasy character while remaining delicate enough for everyday wear. Wear it on its own, layer it with other chains, or choose a shorter length for a detailed bracelet or choker.
